Popeye the Sailor Girl...

Lately Bella is into picking her jammies out herself and surprising us. So a few nights ago she went in there, we waited, and waited, and waited some more. Finally she comes out all smiles and strikes a Popeye pose! "Mom, I'm Popeye the sailor girl, toot toot!"

Awww...

Let's see...we've had a cold already in January. Then in February she had the flu. Now she welcomes March with ANOTHER cold! Can she look anymore pathetic!? And really, the picture does not do enough justice. The joys of parenting!

Date night with Daddy

At preschool last week they had a "Dinner with Dad". So I explained to Bella she was going to go on a date with Daddy just like Mommy does sometimes. So I asked what she wanted to wear...a dress, of course! So we laid out all the dresses and she settled on one. Then she asked if she could curl her hair to look pretty "like you do on your date's with Daddy." So we did the hair, nail polish, a touch of make-up, perfume...all the girly stuff!

15 months later...

Abbey had her 15 month well check today at the pediatrician. Officially her weight is 20.3 pounds and in the 10%ile for her age...height is 30" and in the 25-50%ile...and her head circumference is 17 1/4" and in the 5-10%ile (bird brain). haha just kidding Abbey!

Other milestones...Abbey has been walking since the New Year and we just recently saw her "run". She's quick! Some words that she says are "No, Momma, Dada, Boo, Baby (bebe), Go, Up (ahhp)". Her favorites include baths, her blankie, peek-a-boo, dancing, twirling (even gets herself dizzy), blueberries, and men. Yes, I said men! Not a big fan of other women, but will cuddle up to most any man she comes in contact without hesitation. Not sure if I should be worried about this yet!? We think it's because she is such a Daddy's girl! That's can't be all that bad eh!

Ouch!

Last week Bella had her 4 year well check with the pediatrician. All went good..she is officially 42 inches tall, 35.5 lbs, and healthy! Unfortunately our "all was going well" came to a screeching halt when I informed her that she would be receiving some pokes. Her response was, "Mom, I don't want any pokes...I'm serious Mom...MOM, I'm Serrriiious!" Additionally, this is her new response for everything when things are not going her way..."I'm serious". So back to the pokes...She was quite brave I must say...she cried only after the 5th and last one! Poor girl.

Also, earlier this month at school it was Bella's turn to be "Star of the Week". She worked very hard on her poster and tried on many dresses just to finally settle on just the right one. She also wanted her hair curly, which is quite a difficult task...but we managed a curly something. She was so proud of herself and earned the star treatment!

Shakey Shakey Shakey

This weekend we went to visit our friend Wendy and her son Caleb...Caleb LOVES to chew. He'll chew and gnaw on anything he can get into his mouth! So they bought him this toy some time ago. Now some of you may be familiar with this, or not...but if interested it can be found at your local Petsmart I am sure. Yes, it really is a doggie toy. Who said all the doggies get the fun toys?!

Anyways, as you can see from these few picture's, Abbey was quite curious about this toy. What you don't see is how it shook her arms, head, body...etc. The harder she held onto it, the more she seemed to shake. Was quite funny.

In the Land of Oz

When Bella was about 2 years old, Oma (my mom), introduced her to "The Wizard of Oz." It quickly became her first favorite movie. This last weekend we went to a community theater to see it...Bella calls it a stage play. So to get ready for our big outing I asked what she wanted to wear...I thought for sure she'd want to wear her Princess dress to be "Glinda" the good witch...nope! Dorothy of course! So we pulled out our Dorothy costume and got all dressed up. To say Bella was excited is somehow not quite sufficient! She was lovely...right down to her shiny red shoes...thanks to Oma! Sometimes you get it right! Here are some pictures from our day...
